Not all those who wander are lost. The Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkein
You know how they say that you do not realise how much you miss something until it’s gone, or until you encounter it once more. This is precisely how I feel about reading books.
Over the last few years, I’ve been occupied with moving to a new country, taking up a new job, meeting new people, and overall settling down. Earlier this year, I’ve picked a book for the first time in years, and it felt like I had been reunited with a part of myself that had been missing. I was ecstatic to get lost in a book again, and that in itself has driven me to make it a goal to get back into reading in 2021.
I anticipate that through my reviews I can either help you fall in love with a book’s idea, or not waste your time on a book that doesn’t fit your preference.
Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.F. Scott Fitzgerald
Have you ever picked up a hobby and found yourself fascinated to pursue it, but something caught you off-guard and you had to let it go at the time? I’m sure the majority of whoever is reading this will agree!
Personally, reading books was one of those things that helped me grow in one way or another, not only did it expand my knowledge but most importantly it changed the way I think and reflect on things. Throughout my teen years, I managed to focus on this hobby but after graduating college, going into the corporate life then moving to another country two years later, settling down was my top priority. Once I’ve established my life here in Dubai, the pandemic started at the time and It was a wake-up call to focus on my personal growth.
That’s what brings me here, along with the support of my best friend Becky, we’ve built this blog together aiming to help you choose the books that suit your taste and to bring people together, creating a space that helps them share their journeys the same way we are.
